¿Cuándo acudir a psicoterapia?

Superar el miedo vale el esfuerzo, la psicoterapia es para cualquiera que quiera mejorar su vida. Aquí te decimos cuándo acudir.

Hay muchos mitos sobre la psicoterapia y la gente tiende a creer que es para gente con “problemas mentales” o “con poca capacidad”, por eso podría ser que tengas dudas o miedos para iniciar una tu mismo. Superar esos miedos vale la pena, ya que en cualquier momento en el que sientes que tu vida no está siendo lo que esperabas, la psicoterapia puede ser de mucha ayuda.

Aquí enlistamos algunas de las situaciones en las que la psicoterapia puede ser una buena opción para ti:

  • Querer conocer mejor tus capacidades y fortalezas como persona. 
  • Querer dar un significado renovado a algunos aspectos de tu vida (relaciones familiares, el empleo, las relaciones de pareja, etc.)
  • Tener curiosidad sobre cómo podrías potenciar tus capacidades emocionales.
  • Sentir que las situaciones de tu vida requieren un cambio, pero no tienes claro hacia qué dirección.
  • Enfrentar nuevos retos y decisiones y querer aclarar tus ideas al respecto de cómo manejarlos.
  • Haber intentado varias cosas para conseguir una meta y no sentir que se ha alcanzado.
  • Buscar relacionarte de mejor manera con las personas.
  • Cuando surgen desacuerdos entre la familia, la pareja o los amigos.
  • Tener emociones y pensamientos poco claros sobre ti misma(o) o los demás, y que esto te genere malestar.
  • Experimentar dificultad para concentrarte en ciertas tareas que antes te resultaban fáciles y motivantes.

Algunas situaciones críticas:

  • Haber iniciado conductas que antes no hacías pero que ahora sientes que interfieren con tus actividades normales (fumar, beber, dormir menos o en exceso, problemas con tu alimentación, etc.).
  • Tener un sentimiento abrumador y prolongado de desamparo y tristeza.
  • Sentirte preocupado de una manera excesiva, que no te deja concentrarte en otra cosa.
  • Sentir que tus problemas no se solucionan a pesar de tus esfuerzos y de la ayuda de familiares y amigos.
  • Tener dificultad para realizar las tareas de tu empleo u otras actividades cotidianas.
  • Tener preocupaciones excesivas, esperar lo peor o estar constantemente nervioso(a).
